Eddy Aigbe is a Nigerian born Birmingham based visual artist, multimedia painter and art tutor. Since graduating with a B.A (Ed) in Fine & Applied Arts from the Delta State University in Nigeria, he has been actively and passionately producing art to an international audience.
His current work utilizes a focused documentation and expression of the inner attributes cum emotions of human nature. Often applying colours and textures a style that can be best described as “symbolic expression”. Most of all, he firmly believes that the process of producing art is by itself an art and is as important (if not more important) than the artwork itself.
Eddy has tutored different age groups, professions, from diverse ethnic backgrounds and religions. He teaches varied subject matters from arts & crafts to art psychology. Consequently achieving the ultimate aim of helping all participants to realise their natural artistic ability.
He has been an artist-in-residence in a community centre for over 5 years now, where he has been involved with other members of the community to produce a series of artwork for the community in various art projects. With a primary role to teach and expose art to community members, with a view to encouraging their development and integration within a richly diverse community.
He also won a 'Seedbed fellowship', which has improved vastly, his personal developement in art. This culminated in a various successful group shows and a solo art exhibtion.
Looking into the future, Eddy is currently available for commissions, art leasing, bespoke art pieces, exhibitions, workshop services, and art classes.
